The activity will include a literature review to find the best EBP, a review of the policy at the clinical institution, gathering of data on the unit to assess compliance with published policy. Each student will write a paper on their findings. Topic of research must be approved by the instructor and the clinical facility. This project will involve investigating the research for best practice, reviewing agency policy and observing actual practice. The findings will be discussed on the last day of class, and if deemed appropriate, shared with the agency. (Another option is to do to this project in consultation with the agency’s Quality and Safety area to help them with an issue they are examining.). Students will also turn in Weekly Assessment for the patient for whom they care.
