Input your current age, pre-tax income, and how much (if anything) you currently have saved. Fill in how much you save, or how much you realistically could be saving. Then fill out the Optional section with your planned age for retirement and life expectancy. The average life expectancy is around 80 years on average, but you could base it off of your family and how long your grandparents have lived (or age they are) or parents. It will show you how much you currently have and how much you need. You do not have to give me specifics, but tell me if you are in the red, yellow, blue, or green and how you plan to move up or stay on track if you are in the green.

Saving for retirement may seem like it is not necessary at this point in your life, but if you want to live comfortably and not have to work your entire life, you need to make some efforts now to plan. Social Security alone will have you living pay check to pay check and more than likely in low income/poverty levels.
