Write a ten -minute play in which two characters must somehow divide up a quantity of goods. Is it inheritance? A divorce? A charity sale? Leftovers?
Choose a setting that seems to you both familiar and slightly dull: that dorm room, a kitchen, a restaurant, or something similar. Then write an opening stage direction of no more than a hundred words that makes it both interesting to look at and revealing of its owner.
Introduce into this sitting one character who is familiar with it and comfortable with it, and one who is unfamiliar and uncomfortable. What does each want? Write a pager or so of their dialogue (With stage directions as appropriate).
