This essay will examine Kenya and the nature of post-independence conflicts it has experienced. This paper should identify the different types of conficts Kenya had, post-interdependence and the conflict dynamics. Here are some questions to consider:
What type(s) of conflict has Keyna experienced? (e.g., civil war, nonviolence,
terrorism, inter-communal conflict, etc.)
• Who were the relevant actors in the conflict(s)? Rebels, government, groups within
society, etc. Names, defining characteristics (ethnic/religious ties, political ideology,
etc.), are useful details.
• What was/is the nature of international involvement in the conflict(s)?
• Is the country currently at peace, or is/are conflict/s still ongoing? Talk about how
the conflict(s) ended if it/they did.
• Does the conflict environment in your country seem to fit with the general trends of
sub-Saharan Africa discussed in the class materials, or do elements of conflict(s) in
your country seem to be unique in comparison? Explain. Draw information from academic sources and the following sources: Harbeson, J., & Rothchild, D. (2017).
