Design an evidence-based practice (EBP) model of intervention in domestic or intimate
partner violence. Since there are few examples of EBP models in interventions with
DV/IPV, you will need to rely on broader sources of scientific evidence. Include
conditions and risks that would be identified in assessment/diagnosis. Make sure you
address issues of typology, severity, and mutuality. Demonstrate that you’ve identified
and referenced the most current research on risk and etiology. Describe the
populations or subpopulations for which this intervention would be appropriate. If
relevant, specify aspects of cultural or other diversity that effect program elements.
Clearly identify and specify the theoretical perspective(s) you are using. Review
current models and evaluate them for effectiveness. How would you evaluate this
program (that is what would you measure as success? Why?) What structure would you
propose: group, couples, individuals, etc.? Why? For whom would this intervention be
appropriate for whom wouldn’t it be? What is the duration and frequency of intervention?
How would you address neurological and mental health issues (e.g. addiction)?
Use at least 15 peer-reviewed journal articles as references. In addition, you may use
other scholarly references (e.g. books) as needed.
