Part A This course studies work and work force trends through the examination of the history of various themes and the subsequent impact on work and the work force. The themes are Immigration, globalization Science, technology, obsolescence Politics, social and cultural movements, world events Labor movement the rise and fall of organized labor Workforce membership (gender, age, family, skills) relations with management Workforce protections laws, workplace safety, healthcare, wages, retirement (Please use the themes above, and use them as titles for each section of the paper) We’ll be focusing on Sears, Roebuck & Co. Part B Discuss how it has been impacted by the forces listed in Part A from its inception until today, giving particular attention to the viability of the business, its workforce and its future.
