You are a school nurse in a local high school. A 15-year-old student whose name is on the school roster as Jimmy has been coming to the nurse’s office every few days over the past two months stating “I am having stomach aches and am really having trouble concentrating in class.” In a recent conversation, Jimmy told you, “I want to be called Jasmine, but my parents are upset and said to stop asking that because that is a girl’s name. I feel like they see me as a boy, but I sometimes feel more like I should be a girl.”
Refer to the two articles by Perron, Kartoz, and Himelfarb (2017a, 2017b) in answering the following questions. Be sure to include appropriate citations of these articles both in-text and at the end of your submission to give appropriate credit to the authors.
