Hi. I am seeking someone to write a personal statement essay for my law school application. I am not the best writer and I am having trouble getting started. The personal statement should be approximately 2 to 3 pages long. I do have an idea of some points I would like to discuss in my personal statement. I am an unconventional law school applicant. I am 25 years old. I am a black woman from a small town in Louisiana called Breaux Bridge. I am also a fist generation college graduate and the first in my family with aspirations to go to law school.
In the essay, I would like to address how my path to law school is an unconventional one I went to Louisiana State University and graduated with a degree in Biological Sciences. I chose to major in biology because Ive always been interested in science, and science is intellectually stimulating, so I enjoyed the challenge. Being a woman of color in STEM is rare. I didnt grow up seeing people that looked like in higher professions and careers. I want to be that representation. I want to talk about how this makes me a good candidate for law school.
In my essay, I would also like to discuss how my undergrad training in science will benefit me in law school; talk about how my skills and knowledge I acquired in undergrad will benefit me in law school and the legal profession. For instance, in science, communication is very important. The communication skills that I learned in undergrad as a biology major is very technical, analytic, and precise. This can help me in the legal profession where communication is also very important and analytic.
Getting my degree was one of the hardest things I ever had to do. I struggled. I had to work throughout college to help support myself even though my family helped me as much as they could. Sometimes I wanted to quit or change my major because of how difficult it was, but resilience allowed me to complete it and graduate. Undergrad taught me the power of resilience and not giving up. I believe in the principle that you can be anything you want to be if you work hard for it. Undergrad taught me to never give up. It made me much stronger person. When thrown a challenge or obstacle, I find a way.
Be sure to discuss how my interest in law school was sparked. This should be the theme of the essay. My interest in law was sparked by the range of legal issues that have come about due to COVID-19. I would like to express how this motivated me to combine my interest in biology/science with law and go to law school. The range of legal issues revolving around COVID-19 showed me how the world is becoming much more interdisciplinary. Our society is changing and becoming much more dependent on experts in stem fields. Law helps integrate more technical aspects of innovation.
Talk about my future career goals and ambitions. I would like the essay to discuss my future ambitions to study areas revolving around intellectual property law and health regulations. Discuss how law school will help me reach these goals. For instance, what sorts of programs a particular law school may have that can help me reach these goals.
SN: I am applying to 4 different law schools (UCLA, USD School of Law, Loyola Law School, and University of Southern California
Gould School of Law) I have attached screen shots of the personal statement directions from each of the schools. I am seeking a personal statement essay that can, for the most part, be used to apply to each of the 3 schools. Its okay if you feel the need to make things up to make the essay sound great! I just NEEEEEEED this personal statement to be perfect! The essay should flow; please dont make it choppy. The personal statement should articulate who I am as an individual, why I want to go to law school, and why I would be a great candidate for law school. This essay is one of the most important components of my application, so it has to be GREAT! Please help (:
