Case/Homework questions must be answered in paragraph form, and numbered. One sentence answers to each case question are not acceptable as it does not show your reasoning and analytical critical thinking skills. Try to incorporate as much class and textbook materials as possible when answering the questions. Use the materials from classes, online and the textbook to support, explain and reinforce what you are stating. Proper spelling and grammar is important in business communications and points will be deducted for cases with umpteen spelling and grammatical errors.
ASSIGNMENT
1. Looking at an organization in one of the CASES why do you think the organization has a retention problem include in your answer why you think potential employees might not take a job with the organization/might not stay long-term at the organization? Use Table 10.1 (The Job Embeddedness Model) and Figure 10.2 (Factors Associated With High Engagement) – to help with your answer.
2. (a) Which organization in one of the CASES is most susceptible to layoffs? How could this organization avoid these layoffs? (b) Further identify 2 jobs from any one of the CASES that are most susceptible to layoffs, (c)Look at trends for these 2 jobs online over the last 5 years and see if the data supports what you decided in Part (b).
3. Describe a specific employee in any one of the CASES you believe that needs to be dismissed from their job. Provide substantial and significant arguments why this person should be dismissed.
