The future of security is inevitably married to high tech solutions, especially in the arena of cyber-warfare and espionage, where technology tends to reign supreme. But perhaps security, in essence, can be brought back to a more human level. After all, some would argue, security has everything to do with people and the law, and very little to do with security. Privacy, as important as it has always been to us, seems to be becoming an even greater issue. The writing on the wall seems to indicate that it will change inherently with the technological advances afoot. According to the core principles and meanings of privacy, the definition may very well become diminished. Facial recognition software is currently being offered for use on social networking sites and its implications need to be considered carefully, as such software would irreparably erode individual privacy, at least from a fundamental point of view.
I have chosen two representative technologies for exploration as examples: Biometrics and Quantum Cryptography. But it can be something else which will show up in the near future. For this discussion there is enough interesting material to address these prompts:
Identify what does the future of security looks like.
Does it appear to be a world of high tech solutions?
Analyze whether you believe if we will lose all of our privacy or will we gain it back?
