I need to prepare approximately 5 slides clearly describing my research essay entitled, Keep Junk Science Out of The Courtroom. One slide should clearly state and describe my “research question/thesis statement, which can be found below. I need to describe the use of 2-3 primary/secondary sources that I actually used in my research essay (full research essay can be seen below).
The purpose of this short slide presentation is to share what you have learned through your research about junk science in ways your general audience can understand.
Demonstrate how you argued for your thesis in your research essay using 2-3 of the most relevant sources.
Do NOT read your research essay (it will easily exceed the allotted time).
Utilize slides, such as MS Powerpoint, to visually share what kind of sources you refer to and describe why this topic is relevant today.
Presenters should give a 5-10 min. presentation.
Thesis: Why Are Courts Using Junk Science To Convict? Thousands of people are sent to prison for crimes they are accused of but did not commit because courts are using junk science as evidence in court. Judges and juries are sometimes sending people to jail based on bogus science.
