Why or why not? I previously worked for an employer called Woodford Insurance, they were bought out by a larger agency called AssuredPartners in January of 2020. Slowly over the course of the year the company began to lose employees that they acquired in the Woodford buy out. The reason of these initial employees leaving was due to the management. AssuredPartners was a more corporate setting than Woodford was. Many of the employees were upset with the poor communication of the new management as well as the micromanaging that was taking place. I ended up staying with AssuredPartners until May of 2021. I ended up leaving the organization due to the workload and management. My workload was more than I could handle as I was doing the job of two people, due to COVID-19 there was a hiring freeze, and they could not hire someone to help me out. This led to late nights and working past normal working hours. I felt as if my work was not appreciated by the management, so I felt the time to make the move out of the organization. How do you think the amount of PTO would affect your likelihood to accept one job over another? Paid time off (PTO) is a big factor to me. Being married with kids, it is a priority to be able to have time away from work for family time as well as time in case of sickness with me or my family. I also use my PTO to take a day to myself to take care of myself physically and mentally. There are a lot of considerations I look at when accepting a job. However, the amount of PTO available or how quickly I can earn it is a big factor so I can continue to devote time to my family and take care of myself. Name at least five things. Where would these fit on Maslows Hierarchy of Needs and Herzbergs Two-Factor Theory? What motivates me in my career is to be able to grow in a company by being able to be promoted or have career advancement, as this would make me feel I can work my way up and have a long-term stay at the company. This would fit under Maslow Hierarchy of needs with safety, and self-actualization. For Herzbergs Two Factor Theory, this would fall under motivation factors of achievement, advancement, and growth, and for hygiene factors of salary. A second motivator would be having a sense of belonging in the company, this is to be able to fit in and be comfortable with my coworkers and boss. This would fall under love and belonging, and esteem under Maslows Hierarchy of Needs, and relationship with manager and relationship with peers under hygiene factors under Herzberg-Two Factor Theory. A third motivator would be having recognition for achievements to know that my work is appreciated. This would fall under esteem in Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs and under Herzberg’s Two-Factory Theory motivation factor of achievement and recognition. A fourth motivator would be financially secure with my salary as having this can reduce stress and anxiety and have comfortability This would fall under the safety needs and physiological needs in Maslows Hierarchy of Needs. Under the Herzberg Two-Factor Theory, this would fall under hygiene factors with salary. The fifth motivator would be job security with knowing the company doesn’t let go of a lot of employees and that it’s a good company to work for that can ensure job safety. Under Maslow Hierarchy of Needs, this would fall under safety needs with having that security. For Herzbergs Two-Factor Theory, it would fall under the hygiene factor of job security..
