Sampling and Ethics in Evidence-Based Practice and Nursing Research
Purpose: This assignment will allow the student to explore sampling and ethics in evidence-based practice and nursing research.
Instructions: Review readings in D2L. You must post before seeing your peers post for this forum. Develop and post a discussion board entry that discusses the following issues related to research studies.
Discuss sample size in quantitative studies and how size influences generalization.
Discuss common problems a researcher may have with obtaining a representative sample for a study.
Find an article and critique the article’s sampling method and sample size related to your topic.
Does this article address the ethical issues of the study. For example: Internal Review Board (IRB)? If so explain.
Provide proper APA citation and reference for your chosen article.
APA format is required. This includes in-text citations, references, grammar, double-spaced, and headers.
The initial post must include at least one current (5 years) peer-reviewed reference, and each response must include a different peer-reviewed reference.
Respond to at least two peers in meaningful and thoughtful posts demonstrating the synthesis of the course material, information from the research article, and ongoing involvement in the discussion.
