This week, you learned about gases. Gases are characterized by pressure, temperature, volume, and amount of gas, usually measured in moles.Identify a scientific industry that uses gases. Consider finding an industry in your future field of study (medicine, mechanical engineering, molecular biology, astronomy, culinary arts, chemical synthesis, etc.). Do some research on your selected industry and how they make use of gases.
Then, compose your main post that addresses following:
1) What scientific industry or field did you select and why?
2) What specific gases are used in the scientific industry or field you selected?
3) What are two ways gases are crucial to your selected field?
4) How does the use of gases in your selected industry relate to your new knowledge about the factors in the ideal gas law?
For example, microbiologists use autoclave chambers to sanitize and kill bacteria at very high pressures, and because of the relationship between pressure and temperature, the high pressure means that the temperature does not have to get prohibitively hot to have the same effect on the gas in the chamber.
