A paper (10-12 pages) describing your practice with a client system (individual, group, or family), including engagement, assessment, intervention, termination (if applicable) with the client(s), including a critical evaluation of your work.
The paper should describe the theoretical foundations of your work and demonstrate a strength-based assessment of client’s internal and external resources and challenges, the dynamic interplay of the client’s psychological, social, environmental, and cultural influences, the actions, and interventions you have enacted in order to achieve your clinical goals with the client(s), and issues of transference and countertransference between you and the client(s).
If you choose to write about your work with a client that is involuntary or mandated for treatment or a case in which you have encountered resistance, a treatment impasse, or treatment failure;
describe the strategies you used to work with the resistance, resolve the barriers, and engage or create a therapeutic alliance with the client. (CSWE advanced competency 2.1.10b)
