Competency 9: Evaluate Practice with Individuals, Families
Clinical social workers understand the importance of using evaluations to inform practice and improve treatment and services for clients. Clinical social workers recognize evaluation tools and build the evaluation process into treatment. Social workers in mental healthcare know that evaluative practices should effectively monitor client progress towards desired mental health outcomes.
Clinicians are aware that such evaluations pay attention to factors of human diversity, client clinical diagnosis, and accessible resources. Clinical mental health social workers understand the necessity of evaluating services to improve client outcomes.
Clinical social workers:
1. Use knowledge of factors of human diversity to determine which evaluation tools are best to use to monitor progress toward changes desired by the client;
