Assignment Goal:
This case illustrates the tension between profit, growth and control. It is important to understand the performance pressures created by the expectations of analysts and investors described by Arthur Leavitt in the famous Numbers Game Speech. The case is designed to provide the opportunity for students to analyze the causes and consequences of ethical lapses and organizational crises.
