Directions
Using the Telehealth Guide in the Supporting Materials section, complete a telehealth mock interview in Bongo. You and your assigned peer or peers will take turns playing the role of nurse and client. After the interview, write a secure follow-up letter to the client to address telehealth uses and educate them on technology in healthcare delivery and clinical decision making. In your letter, identify a self-care resource that will aid in promoting the health of the client. Use at least three scholarly, current (within the last five years) references in your letter to support your work.
There are multiple steps in completing this assignment, so be sure to read the guidelines and directions carefully.
Before you begin, follow these steps:
1. Verify you have access to the Bongo tool as outlined in the Bongo module.
2. Communicate with your assigned peer or peers to establish a date and time to complete the interview. Decide who will begin the interview as the nurse and who will begin as the client.
A. You and your peer or peers must each play the role of the nurse and the client.
B. If three people are in your group, Student A is the client for Student B, Student B is the client for Student C, and Student C is the client for Student A.
3. Familiarize yourself with the Telehealth Guide. Add your own ideas and questions to make the interview experience as realistic as possible for your roles as nurse and client. To avoid privacy concerns, do not use your real health information in your interview as the client. Note: You will not submit the Telehealth Guide; you will only use it to help you conduct your telehealth mock interview.
Next, record your video. Follow these steps:
1. Record one continuous video. The video must include all the role-playing sessions, with each participant taking turns as the nurse and the client.
2. Share your full name and your role (nurse or client) at the beginning of each interview.
3. Take notes during the interview. (You may write notes on your Telehealth Guide.)
4. After no more than 45 minutes, stop the recording.
5. Submit the video for your instructor to review. (Select one person to do this, as the video must be submitted only once for your group.)
Then, write a professional, secure follow-up letter to the client.
Specifically, you must address the following rubric criteria:
1. Interview Recording: Participate in continuous interview recording as both nurse and client.
2. Introduction: Describe the purpose of the follow-up letter. Include the following in your response:
A. A formal greeting to the client
B. Mention of the client’s participation in the telehealth visit
C. Why you are sending this letter to the client
3. Telehealth: Explain to the client how telehealth differs from in-person care. Include the following in your response:
A. How technology influences healthcare delivery and clinical decision making
B. The client’s rights to access, review, and correct their medical records
4. Recommendation: Recommend a personalized educational resource to promote self-care for health promotion. Include the following in your response:
A. What the resource is
B. How the client can obtain or access the resource
C. Client responses from the interview that support your selection of the resource
D. How the educational resource can help the client in health promotion
5. Collaboration: Propose that the client collaborate with interprofessionals to assist with health promotion. Consider the following in your response:
o Interprofessional referrals discussed during the interview
o Additional interprofessional team members who may help in the client’s care
6. Closing: Demonstrate your support for the client. Include the following in your response:
A. Reinforcement of your commitment to the client’s health and well-being
B. Your signature, full name, and professional title
