What barriers do you think may arise as you work on your doctoral studies in Public Health and what will you do to overcome them? I think the main barrier would be time management, trying to balance working full-time, going to school full-time, and taking care of family. What support mechanisms do you have available? family and my husband are my support. Additionally I ask my co-workers for their opinion on different subjects in public health. In addition, reflect on your Time Management Plan in your journal entry and address the following: In considering your schedule, what is your biggest barrier to ensuring 13 hours of study time per week for one course? Or 2530 hours per week for two courses? My greatest barrier is working full-time and commuting to work for 1 hour and half daily Who do you need to have conversations with to help minimize this barrier? I try to work on school (such as HW assignments/discussions) during down time at work. Finally, reflect on your learning throughout this course. Nothing was surprising, as I have experience with Blackboard and studying on-line as a full-time student and employee. I did it through my masters program. How can you use the information and skills from this course going forward as a scholar-practitioner? This class has prepared me for my future classes, in preparing me how to navigate different features on blackboard, engaging in critical analysis, ways to communicate effectively and professionally via email with my classmates and instructor, writing a scholarly voice, citing reference and using APA style, conducting appropriate scholarly research article via school library, and finally importance of networking.
