1.) You’re meeting a new client today. He is a 16-year-old young man who, like most young men of his age, believes himself to be invincible. His parents are quite concerned that he smokes marijuana every day after school. He believes that there are no harmful effects to smoking marijuana. You have two tasks to accomplish: a.) Describe the long-term effects of marijuana use to your client in order to convince him to stop smoking (or at least cut back). b.) Talk with his parents about strategies to help him to stop smoking (or cut back) and to avoid further problems with increased use. ***Cite at least one outside source in this discussion with his parents.*** 2.) Find at least one source to describe either the success or failure of a changing marijuana law somewhere in the United States. For example, you might talk about the struggles of medical marijuana dispensaries or the increased tax revenue generated from the legalization of marijuana. ***Briefly describe the source that you identified—be sure to cite your source as well!*** 3.) In your first post, present us with a client who is at some point of change with a behavior. For example, you might introduce us to a client who has decided to lose weight. Choose what stage of change you want your client to be in, but dont tell us what stage youre describing. Instead, describe it through the behavior. For example, you might have your client sustain his or her weight loss over 2 years. That would likely put your client in the maintenance stage.
