The self-exploration paper will be based on student recognition and analysis of the many influences on their well-being at present and over the life span. Paper must be 1000-1200 words. Students will be provided with opportunities to draft and revise their work based on feedback. Introduction: one paragraph Acknowledge the influence of individuals on your career development and analyze the social-culture milieu in which you grew up and how it relates to your personal, academic and career related choices. (about 250 words) Describe the different aspects of well being and describe some that are important to you (hint: social capital and physical health). Include your future plans regarding your well-being (about 250 words). Describe psychological and personality factors (such as interest, values, motivation, and mindset) on personal, academic and career related choices. Refer to theories of Donald Super and John Holland to provide a theoretical basis of claims made. (about 250 words) Use the Diversity, Inclusion, Justice (DIJ) rubric provided at the start of semester (that was the basis of self-assessment and ongoing reflections), state where you were then and where you are now in terms of understanding DIJ. Reflect on the experiences in this course in terms of a) understanding of others, b) self-awareness, c) perspectives and empathy, and d) applications. Select and state the stage you are at currently by looking at the rubric provided. Please provide at least 3 explanations of what has brought you to the present stage and elaborate with examples in 3 paragraphs. State what you might do to progress to the next stage.
