ONE major project will be required in this course and is worth 100 points. You will need to look at the Final Project List in Blackboard lessons or resources. You can choose any chapter project. You MUST complete ALL items in the listed chapter you choose. Local refers to not only the town in which you live but can include within your state in which you reside. Telephonic interviews are acceptable.
This is a 3000 level class. You are expected to do quality research and work. This is not an easy project and will take effort. DO NOT wait until the last minute to start this project.

A project will be required in this course and is worth 100 points.
It will be written utilizing APA format with in-text references, 12 font New Times Roman, and 1.5 to double spaced with 1 inch margins. The page length is a minimum of 5 pages in the body of the paper unless otherwise specified. There will need to be cover page, abstract page and reference page with a header, subheadings and page numbers as designed by APA format. The abstract, cover page and reference page will not be considered part of your 5 pages. You will be marked off if the body of your paper is not at least 5 full pages. In-text references are very important within your work. You must give in-text author credit on quotes as well as summarized information that is not your own. Even though you have a reference page, if you do not place in-text references within your work, it is considered plagiarism. This means you will receive a zero for your paper and could possibly receive a zero for the class!! This includes personal interviews. I want interview in-text citations and interview on reference page. Review APA for proper citations. Make sure you double check your work and utilize the spell check along with your own visual proofreading. No limit on number of sources as long as they are credible.

Chapter 10: The Supervision of Women: Community Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry
1. Research a gender-responsive program. Discuss the program you researched. Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the program.
2. Discuss the stigma of an ex-offender and the issues that ex-offenders could come across once they exit the prison system.
3. Research the implications for women in your state of the lifetime welfare ban by interviewing people who support women in reentry such as transitional shelters, housing resources, and social service organization. Discuss your findings.
4. Research reentry programs for incarcerated women in your state. Many of these programs may be volunteer and faith based. Interview representatives of several programs .Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of this programming.
5. Discuss measurements of recidivism. What measures do you think should be in place? How do you think the data should be gathered? Based on what you have learned in this chapter, what do you believe to be the most important factors in reducing the recidivism rate? How might recidivism strategies vary by race, class, gender, and region?
