Balancing both positive and negative aspects of aging, consider each of the following in light of your personality, resources, background, family circumstances, and access to resources:
,Economic: what money do you imagine you will rely on to cover costs of living, health care, and other needs? Think about your relationship with money right now. Do you save? Do you have a retirement account?
, Social: what do you think your social life will be like? Will you have a significant other? Do you have friends? Will you live alone? What are your hobbies? What activities do you do for entertainment?
,Spiritual: how important will this be when you’re older? Is it important now? How will you express your spirituality? How does it make you feel to consider your death? Is it couched in spiritual beliefs?
,Emotional: what kind of person will you be when you’re older? What are you like now? Consider how stress, trauma, and change may impact your personality.
,Career: what was your career like? What did you accomplish? What did you leave for “later”? What kind of work did you do?
