of the most talented professionals in the world. They come from all
walks of life, including physics, engineering, and medicine.
Despite
the impeccable qualifications of NASA teams, training remains a
critical component of a NASA career, and everyone participating in space
travel remains laser-focused on quality standards and safety practices.
This helps mitigate the inherent risks involved in managing highly
complex duties and settings.
Clinical nurses must maintain this
same focus. Each specialty area presents unique challenges and risks to
patients and possibly others. Hence, nursing education and practicum
opportunities should include considerations for QSEN and other elements
of training for quality and safety.

Post an analysis of the organizational structure that supports quality
and safety in your practicum setting. Explain how the development of
QSEN competencies improves the safety and quality of care in the
specialty clinical area. Identify at least two QSEN competencies that
you plan to further develop during your practicum experience and explain
how this setting will help to foster this growth.
