Write a paper on what is Political science research methods. Explain the issue your paper is addressing, why the issue is important, and how the paper helps us better understand the topic. 2. Literature review: Provide an overview of the existing scholarly studies related to the issue you are studying. The purpose of the literature review is to show how your research fits into the broader literature and should develop the context of your project. This section should make a clear connection between previous work and your research. Make sure you discuss the similarities and differences of the current literature and emphasize how your study will improve the research that already exists. 3. Theory and hypothesis: Outline the general theory that motivates your study. In general, a theory is a reasoned and precise speculation about the answer to a research question, including a statement about why the proposed answer is correct. Theories usually imply several more specific descriptive or causal hypotheses (King et al. 1994, 19). In other words, your theory provides a logical answer to your research question that incorporates past knowledge of the topic, and it serves as the basis for the more detailed hypothesis (or hypotheses) you plan on testing. Your hypothesis (a proposed relationship between two phenomena) should clearly identify a dependent and independent variable and the expected relationship between the two. 2 4. Research design, data, and measures: Present a specific research design, a description of the data that could potentially be used to test your research question, and an explanation of how you will measure the concepts central to your study. Make sure you discuss what your unit of analysis will be and why the proposed data will provide appropriate measures of the phenomena you are studying. You should also state what you would expect to find if the data were actually used to test your hypothesis. All of the choices you make related to your design, data, and measures should be justified. 5. Discussion and Conclusion: Discuss the implications of your researchfor example, how the study will contribute to the broader literature, how your results will influence policy de- cisions, or what your findings will mean for future researchand give an overall evaluation of the issue you address. 6. References: This will be a list of every source you cite in your paper. The list should be formatted according to the APSA Style Manual. And the slides of the presentation should be include: In general, your presentation should aim to do the following: Provide a solid overview of your principal ideas/propositions. Clearly state the motivation for your project. Discuss the previous research in your topic area and the strengths and weaknesses of that research. Give a clear overview of your research design. Lay out your strategy, including a discussion of case selection, measurement issues, etc. Summarize the implications of your research I uploaded my proposal and outline( Topic) below to complete the whole project. Here is my Professor comments on my topic and online please follow his comment to do the paper in the right way. The comments: This is an interesting and important research topic. Your proposed hypotheses are a good start. For both hypotheses it looks like you are actually suggesting multiple relationships. In the first, army and missile development could potentially be two separate dependent variables. In the second, you should clarify some of the language and be clear about whether you want to examine nuclear development or military extremism (again these could be two separate dependent variables). Also, you’ll want to consider whether it make sense to only look at US sanctions versus any collective sanctions from the international community. There’s a lot of work on the efficacy of international sanctions so see where this literature is at and think about how you can make a contribution. This is an interesting topic. If your main question is “how effective are sanctions,” then it’s unclear why you would only focus your study on the case of Iran. If you think an in depth study a particular case is important, you need to justify this approach as opposed to examining the influence of sanctions more broadly. Finally, it’s not at all clear
