Write a business memo/proposal to department head about equity in Promotions at the Chief level. What changes can we make to the promotions process? This can not be more than 1 page. Please see the attached Arlington County Affirmative Action Policy and reference this in the memo. We currently have 16 chiefs with 0 black males (while 2 are on the qualified promotion list), 2 white females, and 1 black female. There were 3 promotions at the chief level in the last 30 days and no black makes were promoted. The proposal of possible change is to enhance equity of the services of the department. The proposal can adjust performance objectives or staff to accomplish this.
