Read the story “Babylon Revisited” on page 991. This classic Fitzgerald story, set in Paris, France, explores ideas of loss and of redemption. The main character, Charlie Wales, made enormous amounts of money working in the U. S., moved to Paris, and then lost all his money in the 1929 stock market crash. He has also battled alcoholism, has lost his wife to death, and has given up his child to concerned family members. Returning to Paris after achieving sobriety in hopes of regaining his child, he spends several days seeing old friends and family members. In the story, Charlie Wales interacts with four female characters both in the present day and in the past. Select one of these characters and write a one page minimum writing exploring his interaction with that character. Use specific details and examples from the story to expand your thoughts of why Wales feels as he does about the character and how he interacts with this character.
