You are demonstrating that you read the material, and whether you agree with the authors or not, you must understand what they wrote about. Use this opportunity to explain what you understand them to say then use the opportunity to research and support your agreement or disagreement. Use scholarly work, not rhetoric to support your thoughts. Try to use critical thinking, which requires an open mind.
You must also respond to another student’s discussion post.
Check the rubric for what is graded to ensure that your post is sufficient to get all possible points.
You must have two initial posts and at least 1 response post. So there should be 3 individual posts in total. DO NOT use the words “prompt” “discussion” or “module” in the title. The prompt is there to help you focus on what you are writing about. Do not list the prompt as the title. When you read the prompt, it should help you focus and determine what you are going to write about, you are answering by discussing what you know from reading the chapter and other material. You are demonstrating that you read the material, and understood it well enough to discuss. So choose 2 of the “Initial Topic” prompts, and then read some of the other posts to see what other people wrote and respond to one of them.
Initial Posts MUST have a 150-word minimum (about 2 paragraphs)
Response posts have a 75-word minimum (about 1 paragraph) – it is not enough to agree or disagree, explain why or what you found interesting in the way they responded.
