Reflect on your readiness to be a Pre-Registration Pharmacist by choosing two concrete examples that have been instrumental in your development over the past two years (personal or academic) and reflect on these with reference to the Pharmacist Roles and Attributes. 4000 words (maximum) Your TWO concrete examples MUST show DEVELOPMENT across ALL SIX Pharmacist Attributes You should EXPLAIN how you have performed the Pharmacist Roles within these Pharmacist Attributes and how that has contributed to your overall development You should EXPLAIN how this DEVELOPMENT helps you to achieve INDIVIDUAL EPSs (and why). Refer to the wording in the EPA). I will attach the list. The two examples must be linked together i have attached a sample on how should the reflection look like. Please include reliable sources for references First example Description: An osce practical exam containing 6 stations where its a patient stimulation, that i failed on 2 marks on my first attempt. The second attempt was on july along with 2 other exams. I was feeling very nervous and i was not feeling well physically which led me to faint in the middle of the exam. Using gibbs model of reflection: – Gibbs model and why did you choose it -Why is osce important for pharmacy students Things i did to prepare for osce: – i attend the tutorial it was easy and i got good feedback because we were given the task before several days to revise for it and we had patient information leaflet for some drugs which made it easier for me to remember the information. -mock osce, I didnt do that well because i thought we will be give patient information leaflet but there was no. Also I didnt know how to study from the BNF because i only used the electronic version not paper copy. -N15 labs where we do role play and practice healthcare professional-patient scenarios Because of covid i could not attend all the labs and i think this had a negative impact. Also in year 2 everything was transferred online even the osce exam. So it was my first time doing it in 3rd -before the main exam i tried to do a summary for all the diseases we covered this year including their symptoms, causes, treatments, lifestyle advice. I also asked my colleagues to help me with studying from bnf and i highlighted the common diseases and treatments. For the resit exam: I had more than one exam to resit and thats caused pressure and anxiety to me I tried to focus because it is my last chance and i managed to pass finally. – pressure and covid affected my ability to focus on my studies further more being away from home because of travel restrictions. Also i feel nervous during exam because the simulated patients are from university staff. Second example: Using johns model of reflection) What is johns model and why you chose it. Dispensing errors during community placement. Picking a drug instead of other as they are considered as (LASA) Look-Alike Sound-Alike. I chose (amlodipine instead of amitryptiyline) That have a serious consequences as that might cause harm to the patient. The pharmacist has checked after me and figured the error before the prescription being dispensed -What is lasa -consequences of dispensing errors -what factors might cause dispensing errors -how to avoid that in future -importance of quality assuranceShow more
