We have a discussion to refine the topic and thesis statement for your final paper. Many of you the suggested topics that while
cool could run hundreds of pages. So we need to further refine our topics to something more specific. A few specific items:
Your paper must have a thesis statement. This is what you are trying to communicate to the reader.
Your paper must have 3-5 supporting statements. It is these statements that make the thesis statement true.
Each supporting statement must be supported by data, or examples, or references.
The best practice is to have an opening paragraph with the thesis statement as the opening sentence. The thesis statement is then
followed by the supporting statements. Each supporting statement is then supported in follow-up paragraph(s) using data, examples, or
references (or a combination).
Each idea needs to be discussed in the order that it was introduced. For example if your thesis statement was the A caused B as proved
by 1, 2 and 3. then you need to discuss items 1, 2 and 3 in that order.
I will also be creating an order for the paper to be completed next week. So I will be requesting whomever is writing this thesis statement, so that it flows correctly with the paper.
