will research your subject and locate at least one scholarly, peer-reviewed article or book chapter, written since 2013.
Once you have found an article or book chapter, you will read it and analyze the author’s main claims, the kinds of
evidence they use to support those claims, how this article shapes your reading of the course text(s), and how it engages
with other research and readings you have done to date. Finally, you will suggest THREE additional scholarly books,
chapters, or articles that a reader interested in this subject might want to pursue. (You do not need to read these
supplementary sources in their entirety, merely know of them). The paper will include a works cited with FOUR sources
(the main article you are analyzing, and the three supplementary texts).

summary and quotation.
consider how this text connects to other works we’ve read or ideas we’ve discussed in class, and what this
scholarly conversation adds to our understanding of the text or historical period
conclude with questions and reflections about further research, including several suggestions for additional
reading on this or related subjects.
