You may select an executive that appears in Chapter 14 or, alternatively, track down a business leader of your choice. As part of this week’s journal entry, provide a biography of the business leader you selected that addresses the following questions:
Does the individual have an advanced degree? What degree and from where did s/he obtain it?
Where and in what role did the individual begin his or her professional career?
What role did the individual play prior to the filing of criminal charges? For what business?
What facts and circumstances led up to the filing of criminal charges?
What was the individual ultimately convicted of? What was the sentence the individual received?
Where is the individual now? What is s/he doing?
With regard to Exhibit 14.3, entitled Key Components of an Effective Corporate Compliance and Ethics Program, is there anything the business could have done and/or had in place to avoid the facts and circumstances you identified in #4?
