For this research paper, you will demonstrate your ability to handle both primary and secondary sources. I will give you your primary source (Link above). Your job is to offer an analysis of the concepts presented in the article. Then you will bring in secondary sources to further support or dismiss the author’s points. This is a research paper and not an opinion piece, so keep yourself out of it. Do not use first-person. You can argue for or against Kroll’s thesis or points, but you do this by adding research (examples, data, quotes, etc) that support or counter Kroll. You do not have to cite your primary source in the Works Cited or use Kroll in the in-text citations since I gave you the source. However, you do need to introduce the primary source in your introduction.
For an example of how to do this as well as formatting for MLA see the example paper I included in the module. This student did this exact assignment but with a different primary source, and so a different topic.
-12 point font and double-spaced. Minimum two pages and a maximum of three pages.
-Use MLA formatting
-Have both in-text citations and a proper works cited page
-Do not use first-person
-I have given you your primary source. You must include at least three other secondary sources. Of course you may include more.
-Use a combination of direct quotes and paraphrasing from both your primary and secondary sources.
