Abstract
•This is an abstract of your paper. It should be one paragraph.
•It should include:
•Purpose of the paper
•The theory you used
•The method you used, i.e. survey or interview.
•Who you surveyed, for example, ten Charlotte Mecklenburg police officer
•The major finding (s) from the analysis of our data
Introduction
The Introduction should be two-three paragraphs that include
The purpose pf your paper
Statistics demonstrating the severity or breadth of the problem
Why we should be concerned about the problem
Theory
•The Theory section should contain
•A complete explanation of the theory you are using
•Four to five articles (abstracted) from other researchers who have utilized the theory to explain some aspect of human behavior
•Why you believe this theory can help explain what you are studying
Review of Literature
•The Review of Literature should contain
•The purpose statement
•12-15 Abstracts from the peer-reviewed literature focusing on your topic, for example, if you are focusing on drug use and juvenile delinquency, you should review articles about this topic. This research should be within the last ten years.
•A summary paragraph summarizing what you have written
Methods
•The Methods section consists of two parts
•Participants and Procedures-the method you used, the sample of people, how the stat will be analyzed and disposal of the data
•Instrument-these are the questions from you asked in the interviews or surveys (every question)
Results
•In the Results section, you should mention every question you asked and discuss the distribution of responses
•For example, “Respondents were asked their gender. Twenty people were male and twenty were females”
•For example, “Respondents were asked how long they had worked for CMPD. Three said less than three years, while the other seven had worked four or more years”
•If you interviewed people, you should include one or two comments to illustrate the tenor of the responses. For example, “All the respondents said the police do not stop people for any reason. For example, Respondent 9 said “it is a myth that police stop people because they have dreads”.
Discussion
•The Discussion section should be two to three paragraphs.
•It should contain a brief summary of the Results
•It should also contain a discussion of whether the Results support previous research
•Mention one or two of the authors in the Review of Literature and state if your results support or refute their research
Limitations
•The Limitations section should be two to three paragraphs focusing on the limits of your study, especially the issues of representativeness, validity and reliability
•Representativeness refers to your ability to interview a wide variety of people, for example, if you only interviewed AA police officers, you obviously did not get the perspective of White officers.
•Validity refers to whether you asked the right questions, enough questions or if the questions should have been worded differently
•Reliability refers to if you did the same study again would you get the same results
•You could also mention other things such as the difficulty in recruiting people to answer your question or you think people didn’t answer all the questions n your survey
References
•The Reference page should include all the references mentioned in the paper listed in alphabetical order by last name
•You must use the correct APA 7.0 formatting both on the Reference page and within the text of your paper

•The Appendices are clean copies of your survey or interview instrument and the Consent Form (if you used one)Sections
