scenario:
Julie, 21 years of age, presented to minor injuries unit (MIU) following a fall whilst mountain biking. She sustained extensive grazes to both her hands.
Julie is normally fit and well, she has impaired hearing, no past medical history of note or allergies. On assessment she was found to have 14 breaths per minute, equal and bilateral air entry, no audible wheeze or abnormal sounds. No increased work of breathing apparent. HR – 80bpm, BP – 112/70mmg, CRT less than 2 seconds, temperature – 36.9 degrees Celsius, 02 SATs 98%. Capillary blood glucose – 2.9mmols/1. Julie appears underweight. She is weighed – 45kg. Her height is 160cm Alert and oriented, no report of loss of consciousness but Julie explains she felt dizzy just before she came off her bike. She is complaining of pain 9/10, which is causing nausea and anxiety. Julie has moved home to her parents house, where she is hoping to stay temporarily.
Julie is currently looking for work having just completed her university degree. Julie has called her parents to meet her at MIU. On arrival they express concerns to you about the amount of exercise Julie is undertaking and her lack of interest in food. They share this information with you in confidence.
Case study part 2:
To underpin your actions in part 1, how would you engage with your service user and what evidence is there to support this. You need to include details about:
