You have a child who is nine years old. S/he is attending fourth grade. Develop your ideal elementary school classroom. In the creation of your design, please sure to include the following:
a. Size of class;
b. Teacher: student ratio;
c. Mainstreaming (i.e. should the class be integrated with students of special needs);
d. How should the physical space of the classroom be designed: think about arrangement of chairs, colors, amount of space and so forth;
e Curriculum:
(1). Should the arts be incorporated?
(2). Sex education?
f. How should emotional intelligence be integrated (or if you think emotional intelligence is not appropriate, explain why – for this section, be sure to refer to the article Can Emotional Intelligence be Taught?)
g. Whether or not school prayer (or moment of silence) and/or pledge allegiance to the flag should be included;
h. Recesses?
i. Assessment of standardized tests (i.e. whether or not they are appropriate)
