Choose ONE of the following questions to respond to in your initial post:
1-Review the leadership traits identified in your reading. Which trait do you think is most important for a leader to possess? Which do you think is least important? Explain your choices. Then assess your leadership skills. Identify the trait that you think is a strength for you, and provide some examples how you demonstrate that trait. Finally, identify and explain the leadership trait that you think you most need to work on developing for yourself.
2-Your reading included examples of poor leadership, including Martin Winterkorn at Volkswagen and Carrie Tolstedt at Wells Fargo. Under these leaders, employees acted unethically, resulting in harm to customers as well as the business. Choose an example of poor leadership from your reading or elsewhere. Identify the leader and the organization, and describe the actions and results that lead to the assessment of poor leader. Explain the role the leader’s situation played in his or her actions. Identify what you think the leader could have done differently, and explain why these actions would have been preferred. What would you have done in a similar situation?
3-Think of a person you personally know and consider to be a good leader. Identify the person by your relationship (for example, my supervisor at XYZ). What traits of a good leader discussed in your reading does this person possess? How would you describe his or her leadership style? Be specific, using terms from your reading and examples of the person’s actions to explain your assessment.
