1.Research and write about prevention programs that are currently being used to address this issue. If possible, focus on Evidence Based Practices and discuss why your research shows they are so successful. *You should also focus on prevention programs, advocacy efforts, and other social change strategies that take a strengths-based and/or trauma-informed approach (ideally both). Discuss how these methods contribute to the program’s or social change initiative’s efficacy.
2. Research and write about current advocacy efforts on a local and national level that address this issue.
3. Building on research from the last paper, write a persuasive argument encouraging additional advocacy efforts on macro (public policy, community, and systems of care), mezzo (neighborhoods, institutions or other small groups), and micro (individuals and families) levels.
4. Design and describe one advocacy activity you would conduct to address this issue. Explain the activity, why it was chosen, the target audience, the desired result, and how it takes a trauma-informed/strengths-based approach.
Papers must be written and formatted in APA style, and include the following:
A Title Page
A References page
At least three (8) academic, peer reviewed journal references should be cited and referenced in the paper. Use the ODU Library Resources.
Completion of each content section using correct grammar and spelling, and a professional, objective, writing style. A more in-depth rubric may be found below.
Papers must be at least 6 to 8 pages in length (double spaced, 1-inch margins, following APA style).
