You will be expected to write a research paper about a non-medical intervention for one of the disorders we will cover in the course. The focus of the paper is not the disorder itself but a psychosocial treatment for the disorder, an intervention which could be implemented by a professional counselor. The paper should include the following components:
• Briefly describe the disorder and what other interventions are available to treat it (e.g. medication, other psychos. ocial intervention). This component should be no longer than one page.
• Describe what the intervention involves. • Discuss whether there is a manual available to guide the professional counselor in how to implement the intervention, and whether any specialized training is required.
• Report on at least two research studies supporting the intervention.
• Discuss the strengths and limitations of the intervention.
