1. Identify a policy that negatively impacts a social group. Search for eight (8) peer-reviewed journal
articles on a social, economic, or environmental policy that negatively impacts a social group. Make
sure the articles are relevant to the policy of your interest as well as the social group of your
interest. Use the most current articles in the topic area.
2. Include an introduction that summarizes the entire body of all the selected articles.
3. Include an annotation for each of the eight articles applying the following guidelines
3) The next paragraph should critique the article. A critique includes the article’s strengths, weaknesses,
and applicability to social work practice, including values. Then, discuss generalizability of the
research, cultural awareness, and/or any gaps in the findings.
4. Synthesize the research by identifying similarities and differences, themes, and contradictions. Is the
research generalizable? Does the research address a gap in the scientific literature? Synthesizing the
articles is not just a summary of the articles, but a coherent review of the literature that you are
describing in order to support your claim on the problems impacted by the selected policy.
