Once during the semester, you will be asked to submit an assignment (8 to 10 pages (excluding the front page, table of contents page, and bibliography page),1.5 spaced, Times New Roman, font size 12) on the application on CBT for specific psychiatric disorders. Students will have to review peer-reviewed articles on the
application of CBT treatment techniques on a specific psychiatric or emotional problem. Topics for the assignment will be provided and you will have to sign up the topic of your choice. These topics will also be part of our classroom discussions and final examination. The assignment should include: (a) an overview of the disorder (8 points), (b) brief review of the empirical literature supporting the use of CBT with this
population (8 points), (c) application of CBT to deal with the disorder (specify the possible negative thoughts and how to challenge those negative thoughts to elicit more realistic and functional thoughts) (8 points), (d) conclusion (3 points), and (e) methodology (3 points).
