Assignment Prompt:
For Module 6 Assignment 3, students will be composing an annotated bibliography with at least five sources. An annotated bibliography is simply a list of the sources you will be using for a research assignment (sources should look like a References list for APA) and a brief summary (about one paragraph; 3-5 sentences) of what is found in each source.
The best way to understand an annotated bibliography is to look at examples, which can be found below:
Example Annotated Bibliography 1
Example Annotated Bibliography 2
Notice in both examples, the sources are first cited using APA citation style and then a brief summary/description of each source was provided. Your annotated bibliography should include the same elements.
Assignment Criteria:
The annotated bibliography should be in Times New Roman 12-point font with 1-inch margins. It should be double-spaced just like an essay. It should include at least five sources that are related to your claim and a summary (about 3-5 sentences) describing the information in each source. The five sources should be cited using APA citation style. For help with this, look back at the Module 6 lessons.
Assignment Submission:
The annotated bibliography can be saved as a doc, docx, rtf, or pdf file and submitted here in the Assignments.
Assignment Rubric:
5- Excellent: Annotated bibliography with at least five sources formatted correctly in APA citation style and containing a 3-5 sentence summary for each source that aptly conveys the main ideas. There are few if any writing conventions errors and all assignment criteria are met.
3- Adequate: Annotated bibliography with four or five sources mostly formatted correctly in APA citation style and containing a summary for each source. There are writing conventions errors but none that inhibit readability, and all assignment criteria are met.
1- Poor: Annotated bibliography missing significant portions of the assignment (less than four sources or missing/inadequate summaries).
