Instructions:
Compile a summary of the main health and mental issues for this case. Items to include in the summary can include the definition of the condition, how does this condition change the child’s physical, mental, emotional functioning, and what is the type and frequency of care? Include other information you feel is important to understanding the condition.
Identify the interpersonal and social conflict and explain the differing viewpoints.
Identify the challenges of care for this case; for example, coordination of care, costs, treatment difficult to maintain, creates social isolation from other children, crises disrupt education, social relationships etc.
Each case represents a larger healthcare issue: identify and discuss both sides of that issue.
Describe the role of the healthcare social worker and supports/services that they may provide to maximize health of child and family. Consider importance of interdisciplinary collaboration of social work with community resources.
