Motivation for the assignment: There are currently large numbers of people in world that are on the brink of starvation. The main objective of this assignment is for you to see and evaluate how humanitarian agencies and research organizations are covering the issues related to a current famine.
Next, building on the course material, you are asked to evaluate the causes, as well as the severity of hunger and malnutrition in in one of two on-going crises that are talked about in the articles: either Yemen or South Sudan
3. Use the article (and other references as needed) to evaluate and document the severity of hunger and malnutrition in that region.
4. Evaluate the underlying causes of the famine identified in the article(s)
5. Show how the article relates to the course material on famines (2-3 sentences)
