This assignment calls on you to conduct a PESTLE analysis on the United States as a means of comparison with your assigned country. You will briefly compare the PESTLE analysis you complete for the United States with the PESTLE analysis from your previous assignment, discussing areas where they are similar and different.
For each element of PESTLE, you will discuss at least one challenge and one opportunity for a U.S. based firm to launch a market or production opportunity in your assigned country. The challenges and opportunities discussed should be generally applicable to different firms and industries, and not specifically in reference to the industry we are focused on. If the challenge or opportunity is broadly applicable to most U.S. firms or is specific to certain categories of industries or firms, please state as such and why you believe this to be the case.
Please refer to your previous assignment in identifying and discussing the challenges and opportunities (“As discussed previously” is sufficient). If you are discussing a challenge or opportunity in your assigned country that stems from research you did not include in your previous assignment, please properly cite it here.
My expectations for the robustness of your U.S. focused PESTLE analysis, in comparison with the PESTLE analysis from the previous assignment, are lower, given the additional required comparisons and discussion of a challenge and opportunity.
My recommendations for collaborative work on this assignment applies the same breakdown in assigned PESTLE categories among group members, but I would encourage groups to set up a forum where members can openly suggest and discuss the opportunities and challenges for each category to more evenly share the burden for this requirement.
On top of this, we will also need to discuss opportunities and challenges between South Korea vs the US. So, for each category above, if everyone in their conclusions could provide a paragraph about how the US and South Korea PESTLE’s are similar and different, that would be great. Then, also one challenge and one opportunity from each category, so it will be up to each of us to present these in our case. (Think about an opportunity for a US based firm to launch a business into South Korea, then also a challenge for the same scenario. This is what we need for each category, along with the similarities and differences between the South Korea/US analysis)
