You should cite at least one quote from each reading attached as pdf to back up your analysis (according to any one of the standard styles). only the readings attached should be used to make the analysis between 750 and 1000 words (roughly 3 to 4 double-spaced pages) (not including your references section). When responding to this documentary, you may choose to focus on specific parts rather than the whole.
You can think of this in terms of the structure of an essay, with a thesis statement serving to unify your thoughts and a brief introduction and conclusion providing context. Because of the word count restrictions, it is not recommended to write lengthy introduction and conclusion sections that merely summarize the main points of the paper or the documentary. Instead, you should concentrate on explaining your terms and concepts and making important connections .
Sociological context for your chosen film can be found in your sources.
To explain the larger underlying patterns (what we might call in sociology the social “dynamics,” “structures,” “relationships,” “forms,” or “processes”), you should refer to the concepts and theories developed in the readings (and, if necessary, the lectures). Make it obvious in your analysis how the perspectives of the authors you’ve chosen mesh (or don’t). Part of this goal can be accomplished with a strong thesis statement.
