Directions: For this assignment, complete the series of articles that document the experience of a young woman, Sarah, on the edge of homelessness — “No Place to Call Home,” “Home is Where the Heart Breaks,” and “Time to Leave, But Nowhere to Go.” As students complete the assignment readings, they should focus on identifying the various factors that contribute to Sarah’s housing insecurity and that prevent her from securing permanent housing.
After completing the articles, students should write a 2-page paper that, based on the assignment’s readings, identifies and analyzes one or more of the causes of housing insecurity as well as the one or more of the difficulties in assisting the housing insecure.
Assessment: Assessment will be based on how well the assignment clearly identifies one or more of the causes of housing insecurity as well as the one or more of the difficulties in helping the housing insecure. The assignment should logically guide the reader through clear, well-reasoned explanations supported by evidence from the texts.
Assignment should be at least two full-pages, double-spaced. Please see the attached rubric for additional details.
