[A] Is the use of “cookies” online – the files that track your visits to and activity on websites – a substantial violation of privacy? Should websites be allowed to collect this sort of data?
[B] To what extent – if any – is online surveillance acceptable, whether it’s surveillance of specific groups of people or of the general populace as a whole? Do you think what we share on social media is protected by some degree of a right to privacy? Should the police or the government have the ability to use what we share on social media against us? Should they be able to access this information at all?
[C] Should police officers use body cameras? Do the potential benefits outweigh the potential risks? If so, how can these potential risks be minimized or avoided? If not, what other ways can we ensure police accountability and reduce abuse of police authority? Is the body camera a useful form of new media in today’s society?
