The impact of mental illness is a terribly understudied phenomena. Glad you are taking this on! Based on your thesis I assume your unit of analysis is convicted juvenile offenders. If so, I would gather data on the crimes they are convicted off, their level of sentence, their demographic data (age, gender, income, etc.) and, of course, any evaluation of their mental health. Include both juvenile offenders that have an identified mental health illness and those that do not. An important note: the UCR are notorious in their poor data collection. But they might be the only source available. You can delete your literature grid from your literature review.
