Critical analysis – Compare and contrast, discuss the meaning and relevance of the facts you report. Be critical but make sure that criticism is balanced (identifies any strengths as well as weaknesses) and expressed at the appropriate level, (what you say is scientifically accurate and referenced)
– Detailed presentation of the facts– within the word count there is a high level of detail, not just a general discussion of the topic or the papers mentioned, the details that you have picked out from papers to include are useful and add evidence or examples to what you are saying. In order to present Scientific facts briefly and accurately you need to show a good use of Scientific English
– Demonstrate understanding – what you have written is scientifically accurate and the views expressed are consistent with what is known in the field or are scientific and based in fact, the quality of your writing will also have an impact here
– Conclusion – is fully supported by everything written in the review and by the evidence presented in the review, is balanced ietakes both sides of the argument or both the positive and negative points into consideration. Is concise.
– References – good quality references used, format of in text citations and reference list is accurate and the references are used well in the text ie it is clear that they provide evidence or examples of what you are writing.
